TDR Restaurant Review: The Teddy Roosevelt Lounge at Tokyo Disneysea

The Teddy Roosevelt Lounge is a lounge and bar located on the second floor of the giant Titanic-like ship, the SS Columbia, in the American Waterfront area of Tokyo Disneysea. Whereas the fine-dining restaurant on the third floor, the SS Columbia Dining Room, is where you might choose to have a three course dinner, the Teddy Roosevelt Lounge is an ideal place to sit down and enjoy a cocktail, or perhaps a snack or light meal, in style.

TDR Restaurant Review: The Blue Bayou Tokyo Disneyland

The Blue Bayou is one of the ‘table service’ restaurants at Tokyo Disney Resort. Like the Blue Bayou at Disneyland in the US, the restaurant at Tokyo Disneyland is located inside the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, within the New Orleans part of Adventureland. An interesting aspect of the Blue Bayou, perpetually lit to feel like night time, is that the waterfront restaurant shares the same river as the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. In a way, the ride enhances the feel of the restaurant, and while you’re on a boat in the ride, the restaurant gives the ride itself a more realistic feel.

Shin-Yokohama Raumen Museum: not your average themed restaurant

A couple of years ago I read about a ramen museum in Yokohama and added it to my 2013 Japan itinerary. We ran out of time, so put it on our itinerary again in 2014. This time we actually made it! Officially it is called Shin-Yokohama Raumen Museum, but is also referred to as the Yokohama Ramen Museum. I loved the idea that a country could be so fond of one of its dishes that it would dedicate a whole museum to it. I’d heard that it was really great, and I had images in my mind of a big museum all about ramen, with some food tasting at the end. This sounded like something a little different, I was pretty excited.

When I go to TDR for Halloween, I find that my time at Disneysea is spent staring at the decorations (Disneysea is such a beautiful place!) and trying to eat all the food (trying, because even eating my way through a fraction of what’s on offer is a challenge). Halloween is both my favourite time to be in Japan and my favourite time to visit Tokyo Disney Resort. Both Disneyland and Disneysea are decorated really well for Halloween, there is plenty of themed food, and Disneyland comes with the added benefit of the opportunity to dress in costume!
